Finances should never be a barrier for a volunteer or young member to take part in Girlguiding.
County grants
For individuals struggling to access Girlguiding due to financial barriers, Girlguiding Surrey West has an Access to Guiding grant fund.
An individual can apply for themself or on behalf of another individual. Before making an application, it is important that other finance solutions have been considered. Associated units must have claimed Gift Aid and assistance should initially be requested from district and division level.
All applications should be supported by a Girlguiding Surrey West commissioner.

From January 2026 there is also a Volunteer warm welcome grant to help with the costs associated with new volunteers joining a unit, such as uniform and training.
