Welcome to Surrey West Trefoil Guild
Surrey West County has 15 Guilds around the County and yes sometimes we do have more than one Guild in a Division or District! All the Guilds have strong links with their local Districts and Divisions and we all support County events and we don’t just make the tea!
Who are we and what do we do?
The clue to what we do is in our strap line “Guiding for Adults” – we carry on where the girls leave off!
The Trefoil Guild is open to all adults over the age of 18 years; in Surrey West we have 15 active Guilds spread all over the County. One of these Guilds, “Out and About” welcomes members from all around the County and beyond. Anyone can belong to as many Guilds as you like with just one subscription payable.

As well as supporting local units, Districts, Divisions and County the Trefoil have their own programmes organised at local level, region and national levels. The activities undertaken are many and varied and will include everything from afternoon tea to Narrow Boating weekends. In Surrey West County Trefoil our members enjoy the Annual Meeting in May every year which takes the form of a short meeting followed by lunch and various activities and ends with afternoon tea. During the course of the year there is always an Autumn Quiz, a Christmas service and a Summer Camp.
Many Surrey West Trefoil members enjoy attending the Region Annual Meeting held in various places in the Region including Worthing, Brighton, Margate and Dorking. Surrey West also have quite a large contingent attending the National Meeting in June every year. These are held all round the country as all the Regions take turns to host it.
We always enjoy our four day visits to Foxlease (the next one is in September 2019) where we enjoy the local surroundings and have a coach outing. This year we are visiting the RNLI Headquarters in Poole
Last year was Trefoil’s 75th Birthday year and in Surrey West we had an outing to Milestone Museum in Basingstoke where we were able to reminisce just a little too much for some of us!
We also joined with Surrey East Trefoil and enjoyed a “Guides Own” followed by a Ukulele concert and a cream tea for over 120 people.
